Bilstein 3" VS ToyTec/Eibach 3" lifts?

I'm looking into suspension lifts, I want to go better quality than a spacer, but don't think I want to get into the more expensive coilover lifts.

I've found the 3" Bilstein lift

They are in a similar price range, I'm wondering how they compare to each other?

The Toytech/Eibach kit is side-specific, not height adjustable, and a similar kit for the few more dollars it costs.

EDIT: they include the same toytec springs on the bilstein kit and list it as non-adjustable too

The difference comes down to the shocks and the Eibach kit comes assembled

I did the toytec/eibach 4runner springs with the tundra bilstein 5100's and just went with LC 8 wraps in the rear. Here is a before and after picture. It had Revtek spacers on it before and I am extremely happy with how it looks now

I ended up going with the bilsteins/toytec. I haven't had a chance to take it off road yet, but it feels really good on road.

Been running the same kit for about 2 and have wheeled it pretty hard with no issues. Its a great daily driver and weekend wheeler kit IMO. Running 285/70 17s btw

Thanks guys, now I really want a pulled pork sandwich from Shufords.

I have the Toytec 3" lift and haven't found a need to upgrade it yet. IMO it's the best lift for set-up for the price. Eventually I'll go to Kings but I'll wait till this one is shot.

This may be old news but I've poached a lot of info from this site and wanted to give something back with my first post. I just got the toytec 3" lift with the bilstein 5100 shocks. Going in i thought i might need uca's but wanted to see exactly what the alignment would look like first. Well I got it on and it's a little off. It lifted the front nearly 4". I could probably live with it if I weren't towing a 3500lb camper trailer. I ordered some spc uca's and they will get installed next week. Still figuring out tires but i'm leaning toward Falken wildpeak at3w in 255/80/17 on stock rims with spidertrax 1.25" spacers. If i could figure out how to attach pictures here I will do so.

Those Eibach springs are way too stiff for an otherwise stock 4Runner. They ride like crap and lift way too much. I got rid of mine after like 500 miles and am running Boss coilovers with 550lb springs. I am much, much happier with my current setup.

Haven't got them installed yet, but I bought the 6112. $590 for the kit (plus tax, no shipping) from 4wheelparts ~ B8 6112 Suspension Leveling Kit | 4wheelparts.com I had to call to order the rear 5160's, but 6112, 5160 and OME 906's were $1200 to my door.

I opted for the Bilstein setup because I feel they are better Shocks, thus better performance. For me, it's all about function... looks are just what happens after you get the function sorted. I've only got the rears installed, but measure 22" from hub center to bottom of fender flare (limited flares). Shooting for 21.5" on the front with the 6112's on clip positions 6pass, 7driver for a Smidge of positive rake.

Gotcha! Did you end up with new UCA as well?
