Bilstein 5100 Front Springs

Currently have 5100 all around with factory springs in the front on the top setting and 5100 in the rear with 2” rear springs. Does anyone have comparison photos of the front at 2.5” with factory springs compared to aftermarket (Toytec, Eibach, Dobinson, etc)

I have full aluminum skids, sliders and a roof rack. Will eventually upgrade to a full bumper with winch.

Might be why youre not getting many responses. I have this exact set up (5100s @ 2.5" front with toytech superfelx 2" in rear). Ive posted my runner in there recently so it's one of the mite recent pics.

Good looking rig - I am seriously considering this setup. Should I consider coils in the front when I am putting the 5100s on? Also, did you consider Sway-a-way 1.5 coils in the rear over the Superflex coils? Have you noticed any rake?

It just depends what you use your vehicle for. My runner is just a mall crawler. The most I'll ever do with it is lug stuff to the eco station or help a friend move some stuff that won't fit in their vehicles. i.e. I don't need heavy duty springs and I won't be maxing out the suspension travel. I just got things mainly for aesthetics.

If you do go off road a bunch or will be doing lots of towing or anything more than I use my vehicle for, you might want to look into non-OEM coils for your application. A popular go-to for a lot of people are the Bilstein 6112 in the front and then 5100s with a spring lift and/or spacer in the rear.

Again, all depends what you use it for and what kind of look you're going for. I do have a *smidge* of rake but it's not noticeable, imo. When I raised the front 2.5 (top setting in the front 5100) and doing nothing with the rear (I installed the rear 5100 shocks and no lift), measuring things out, the front was 1" higher than the rear. So, I only needed a 1" lift in the rear to make things level.

Originally, all I wanted to do was make things level, but for whatever reason, I bought the toytec superflex springs which were supposed to give me a 2" lift in the rear. Meaning, I'd have a 1" rake instead of being perfectly level.

After installing it, I absolutely ****ing love it. I love it for a couple reasons -the main one is that it gives me a little bit of rake compared to level and makes the wheel gap in the rear larger than the front (to me, more wheel gap in the front drives me NUTS). Even if the vehicle is perfectly level from a measurement standpoint, if there's more wheel gap in the front than the rear, to me, it looks like it has reverse rake.

Had I went with the eibach 1" lift or a 1" spacer in the rear to make things perfectly level, I would have hated it in hindsight. I would have had to pay to pull out the eibachs or spacers and then install the superflex spring lift in the rear.

Even if someone offered to pay me full price for my superflex springs and give me free eibachs and did the labor for free, I wouldn't do it. The 2" in the rear looks so much better, imo.

That all makes a lot of sense. I am paranoid about reverse rake so this may be the way to go. You answered a lot of my questions - I appreciate it.
