Anything more than 2.5"-3" or so lift in front may not only stress suspension components and CV axles, but can also result in tearing a CV boot, from the boot rubbing against itself due to the angle the axles are at.
The previous owner of my 97 had installed Bilstein 5100 Tundra shocks with the Eibach 620 lb coils, and the c clip on the 2nd notch from the bottom. With no extra weight in front, this gave a lift of around 3.25". Even with a 1" front diff drop, the CV axle angles were such that I had rubbing of the CV boot ribs, and one boot eventually tore at the point of the wear from the rubbing.
After my reboot turned into me rebuilding my 20 year old front suspension, since I had it torn apart anyway I went ahead and disassembled my coils and shocks and moved the c clip down one notch to the lowest of the 5 notches.
This configuration now gives me around 2.5" lift up front, and avoids the CV boot rubbing I had before.
From photos I've seen here comparing notch heights for the Tundra vs Tacoma 5100 shocks, 2nd notch from bottom on Tundra one is close to the same height that the Tacoma one gives you on the lowest notch. The Tundra 5100 of course has 5 notches total, vs 3 total on the Tacoma 5100.
So I'm not sure what amount of lift you'd get without additional weight up front with Eibach coils on the Tacoma 5100 shock. Toytec I believe says around 3", but on 2nd notch on the Tundra 5100's I had a little more than that. Might have been less with a lighter weight Eibach coil, rather than the 620 lb ones, who knows.
