Bilstein 5100 Snap Ring Failure

Kinda blows my mind that the dynamic weight of the vehicle is resting on those tiny groves and rings.

That aside, I'll add to the chorus of happy 5100 users. Haven't seen that sort of failure here before.

It is amazing to me too.
 
Bilstein gave me a full refund after inspecting the shock, I was pretty stoked!

So, this could mean that Bilstein determined it was a part failure and not due to a user error, that is scary!
I have installed 5100's on a few 4runners and Tacomas and was always really sketched out and uncomfortable with the snap ring design!
Its crazy they don't make a locking perch system that use and allen key or something like that, just for the peace of mind.
