Bilstein 5100 vs 5125

I'm thinking I'm going to peice together a lift to try and save a little cash.

I've pretty much decided to use the 3" Toytec springs with adjustable 5100 Tundras on the front.

The back is where I cant decide and I've tried to search it but cant find exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm fairly set on the OME 890 or 891 springs on the back with a Bilstein shock. What I'm struggling with is whether to use the 5125s with the adapter or the Tundra 5100 rears.

I'm leaning more towards the 5125s but mostly because thats what toytec sells with the complete kits so I figure they know what they're doing a lot more than me.
I'm just hoping someone can give me a little info on the difference between the two. Is it more travel/flex with one vs the other or a ride comfort issue?

I also found the part number in my searching found this to be the correct one:

Bilstein BE5-6250-H5 5125 Series Gas Shock Absorber : Amazon.com : Automotive

Can anyone confirm this? I know I'd have to buy the adapter seperate.

Thanks for any help and being patient with yet another lift question.

I JUST installed the Toytech Ultimate Lift kit on my 2000, and I am happy with it. I wanted the BOSS kit, but it was not available when I ordered, a week later it was in stock :crybaby:

I ordered the 5125's with mine and it is not stiff at all! I also have the 890's, I got an initial 3.5" of lift (but I think my suspension was sagging), and after it settled, I now have 3" of lift. No complaints, and right now I carry all my tools for work in construction (demo, framing, plumbing, electrical, and so on).

Can't speak about the difference, but I love what I got!! :bluejump:

I put my lift on the first of last week. Front is Toytec 3" springs with Tundra 5100s on the second notch and the rear is 890s. At first I was running some Rough Country N2.0 shocks on the back that were already on the truck. The ride in the front was perfect, but the Rough Countrys didn't have enough dampening for the 890s. I ordered Tundra 5100s and installed them yesterday and it rides like I want it to now. The dampening feels the same between the front and rear. By advised that if you get the Tundra 5100s for the rear you will need to swap out the bushing in the lower mount. The Tundra uses a 1/2" ID bushing where the 4Runner uses a 3/4" ID bushing.

I bought these bushings from Summitt Racing for $3.99 each. Pressing the old bushing out was easy and popping the new ones in was even easier.
