Just wanted to post that I put on Bilstein 5100s all the way around and kept my original factory springs. Used the .85 setting on the front, and it leveled out my truck beautifully and the ride is 200% better! Highly recommended!

Nice! I've been considering this as well. Out of curiosity, when you say 200% better ride, in which way do you mean? Do you mean handling? Smoothness over bumps? Would it be ''wife approved'' if you commuted to work everyday in the t4r, and she happens to 'love' the stock ride? Lol because that's my predicament... Just want to keep the wife loving the runner for everyday riding and road trips/etc.

I am interested in the same set up. Also interested in your ride comments. Post some pics if you get a chance. Best regards, Doug

I also put the 5100's on the front of mine on the stock setting with the Toytec badged eibach. 3" coils. I also got some 14" 5100s for the rear just have to make the mounts on the outside of the frame. But anyway. I'm very impressed with them so far. Great ride. Look great too.

How much $$$? Where did you get em? I was thinking about getting some but don't want to adjust my ride height.

The ride is so much more improved both in handling/cornering (way less sway around corners) and smoothness over bumps. I was previously running on the factory shocks at 80K mileage, and this is a night and day difference. It's mostly a daily driver on the LA freeways, but I like to have the ability to go offroad too (which I haven't yet :sobbing:) My girlfriend drove it a little and even she noticed a big improvement in the ride quality. Everything just feels "tighter" I would suggest using the second setting (.85) to bring the front up a little, I truly believe it helps with the cornering. There is still a little rake with the rear higher, but it looks dang near level, nothing like the ridiculous rake from the factory. I think the wife would be fine with it, cause I think it's smoother than before....

Snesley-

Ordered the shocks from Off Road Warehouse in San Diego, with a 10% off sale for halloween (they run sales like this for just about every holiday) and FREE SHIPPING for about $360 (all four, came in a kit). Got them installed today for another $350 including alignment. Great way to level the truck without getting into spacers and all the potential problems that could occur.

Doug-

Will try to post some photos tomorrow. I spaced and don't have any before photos though!

Next up, my 90K service. Timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, fluid changes, lube driveshaft, flush brakes.

I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!! :guitar3:

Awesome. This is great to hear. The reference that comes to mind for me was when I left my Air Lift 1000 bags inflated to like 12 psi, the wife thought it was too 'bouncy' with no load, which it was (I just aired them back down after).

Just want to avoid making a harsh ride out of something that rides smooth now - ya know?

Thx for the reply!

Does one have to get the adjustable fronts if one wanted the Bilstein 5100's?

The 5100 have four adjustable rings on them, and as far as I know this particular model is only adjustable. I believe the first setting would be close to stock height in the front. I'm on the second setting now. Each setting raises about an inch I believe....
