I've been doing a lot of research trying to find a small lift and improved ride/ handling. I need an opinion from all you gurus out there: I plan on doing a 1" lift all around with cornfed 1" spacers in back and either 5100s or HDs/ 1" spacer lift in front.
I want the best ride quality possible (not TOO firm). I found a great thread on the forum with data on the valve rates of each Bilstein model:
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/suspension/84359-hd-5100-5160-bilstein-valve-rates.html
I realize that HD's are not intended for lifted vehicles because they are not set-up for increased travel/ preload. HOWEVER, if it's only a 1" lift will this really be a big deal? Would HD's and spacers give me a better ride than 5100's? Am I missing anything?
