does anybody know if the rear bilstein shocks (part # 4R96-BIL) from toytec will work on a 4runner with a 2.5 inch lift? toytec says it will only work with a 3 inch lift but i dont see why it wouldnt work with the 2.5 inch lift. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Those are specially built and valved to have longer travel and a softer ride. If I were you I'd find some BE5-6251-H5 shocks to go with that lift, same shock same valving just a little shorter. The one toytec sells (I believe is the 6252 shock) is a 8.13" shock travel with 21.54" extended length and 13.58" collapsed length. Whereas the 6251 is a 6.63" travel shock with 18.50" extended length and 12.03" collapsed length which sounds like is what you need for a milder lift like that.

FWIW, Doug over at Toytec just told me today that the 6251 is shorter than the stock shocks (21") and advised me not to go with them. The choice is yours.
