hey guys, i have a 2000 4runner 4x2 limited. i have original shocks front and rear with like 40k miles on it. lately, i am starting to noticE that every time i drive my runner its like i am on the boat. ANY BODY HERE HAS a SUCCESSFUL REPLACEMENT OF THEIR SHOCKS FROM A BOAT LIKE RIDE TO A COMFORTABLE RIDE, AND ANOTHER ISSUE WITH MY RUNNER I'VE NOTICE THAT THE CLEARANCE FROM MY REAR AXLE TO THE RUBBER STOPPER IN THE FRAME IS ONLY 2". check out the picture. i need a suggestion for a shocks front and rear. Please!

Looks like coils you need and not shocks , time for a mild lift maybe.

Fyi coils support the truck and shocks just dampen bumps in the road

You might be able to just get away with shocks on the front and coils for the rear , I think really the best thing to do would be is to just get the 99 tall coil lift from ss I believe,

How this works is replacing all coils at once will allow them to wear at the same rate and settle at the same rate , as opposed to just replacing front and then doing rear later you're chasing your tail and your coils are never evenly settled .

The sweet thing about the 99 coil lift is it's all factory toyota parts , you can still use the billies you bought for the back and no other mods needed as its a stock set up but just from another year, it should give you around an inch or little more and is subtle imo,

So in short the cheap way ,
Coils for the back.shocks for the front . See if that helps if not coils for the front

The right way
Coils on all corners shocks for the front .

Do a quick check of you sway bar and end links give them a good tug and make sure the bolts are.snug just to double check .

Other wise start looking at replacement coils and shocks
