Bizzard Pearl

Bizzard Pearl to show paint chips more than Mag Gray?

Initial instinct is to go with the Magnetic Gray but I'm loving the Blizzard more every day.

One of my main fears are dings and the primer color under factory paint. I read somewhere that the primer is black. Can anyone verify?

Thanks.

Scratches on my bumper for an idiot hitting me show up as black. They hide in pretty well with the Mag Gray

I can't - but I really like my BP, and get quite a few compliments on it, FWIW.

Edit: Get the color you really want and some touch-up paint.

That sounds like it just went all the way down to the plastic.

I really like the Blizzard Pearl, but if my wife didn't demand white, I'd be in a shoreline blue or red TE. The BP does look really nice on the SR5, though. It is a very interesting color based on the way it changes in different lighting.

Yeah sounds wierd that they used black primer, i never heard that. I was all set on black UNTIL i saw the Blizzard pearl in the bright sunlight and wooow, its nice. I get my Blizzard Pearl in a couple of weeks (black was just to flat, if it was a metallic black I would of had a really hard time) My last truck was that non-metallic black and it showed EVERY swirl mark, water spot and scratch and it just pissed me off everytime I washed it, so I needed to stay away from black as nice as it is. So its Blizzard Pearl and touch up for me.

Good point. I should have finished my thoughts. I guess multitasking at work will do that :) . The other scratch I had from a lovely shopping cart (I was able to buff out) showed up as white underneath.

Haha that's exactly what happened to me. I'm usually all for black but I saw them side by side at the dealership and it was no contest. Blizzard Pearl is a very sexy color.

HAHAHA, thats great I did the same thing after I drove both for 45 min each. Went to the lot parked them nose to nose and it WAS no contest, Blizzard is VERY classy looking. Already contacted my tint guy for the front windows to get him ready.
Sorry for the thread derailment, back on topic as I agree that it went all the way down to the plastic and the primer isnt black.

The other day I noticed a small chip on the lower door edge and the primer underneath is light gray almost white, hope that helps. My initial choice of color was silver but the dealer said none were available and suggested I look at the blizzard pearl that they just unloaded of the carrier. Upon seeing it, I said let's make a deal on that one. The longer I own it the more I appreciate the blizzard pearl color. Check out the photo, the BP paint really highlights the contours of the 4Runner.

That is a great shot. I'm terrible at catching that effect on the paint w/ my camera. I end up washing it out too much. But, yeah, it really brings out the different shapes along the side of the truck.
