Black box next to rear view mirror?

It’s trapezoidal in overall shape. What is it for? XM radio? Navigation? Was there when I bought it and it had all the bells and whistles from the factory (nav, satellite radio, rear seat entertainment). Would like to get rid of it if it’s not doing anything, I just installed a Pioneer Nex receiver. Hopefully it’s not tied to the compass built into the rear view mirror?

LOL I have the same one. I think it's Sat Radio Antenna, but been too lazy to remove it. I found a sat radio receiver in the right lower quarter panel and ripped out the harness etc and tossed it.

Hahaha I thought I was the only one. My JBL/Nav OEM deck definitely had XM capability. Yours too? Not looking forward to dropping the headliner to remove it properly but I may also ditch the rear seat entertainment at the same time and get a standard head liner.
