Still hit and miss on quality from a couple I've seen in person and really is a question of how much do you want to be different since this is just a ricey mod and in no way helps performance and if you get a bad set you are paying to have lesser headlamp performance.
They look cool but the quality issues keep me away plus I'd rather do somethign to my truck that's useful for that much money....like Fo Sheezy's LED tails suggestion;look cool and actually better than OEM.

What are the benefits exactly? And how much does this cost? Anything comparable to an HID setup or does this consistently fall short of stock?

My experience with the Black Headlights...
Was going to post a new thread, but thought I'd just add to this one as it is pretty comprehensive. I got the black headlights off of Ebay and installed them this weekend.
My experience pretty much matches what everyone else has said, light output is not as good, but they look awesome. Here are a few notes:
Out of the box these don't look that much different from OEM, and the quality appears to be good. (See pictures below). Out of the box adjustment was bad - once aimed they are decent. I would give the OEM headlights an A, I'd have to give these a C in terms of light output. The high beams are actually pretty good, but the low beams are a noticeable step down. I was running both sets of headlights with standard 60/55 Hella bulbs.
I also replaced my OEM foglights with the Hella micro DEs and that was a fantastic improvement. 100x better than stock.
Has anyone actually replaced the center reflector as Fo_Sheezy mentioned? The reflector has 2 screws accessible once the bulb is removed, but I'm not sure it will come in/out through that hole. Have a feeling you might need to take the the assembly apart to swap the reflectors.
Some closeup pictures comparing OEM vs the new Black ones.
I couldn't get the passenger side to adjust properly, and realized the ebay light housing (the big black plastic surround) was a bit bent. I swapped it for the OEM one and it went together nicely. I should've done this for the driver's side as well - the OEM housing is much nicer and the headlight adjustments are more secure than those on the Black lights.

In summary, decreased light output, but they look really sharp. Because I live in ATL and don't do tons of rural driving, I can live with the compromise. I upgraded to the Hella DE fogs at the same time, so my overall lighting stayed about the same. The Hella's are awesome.

Nice man, that looks really good. A quick suggestion about the Hella DE's - make sure they are sealed nice and tight. Water has its way of getting in there somehow, and once it builds up, does not drain very well, since the drain hole on the robber boot is about 3/4'' above the lowest part of the light, where water should (in my opinion) be draining out. I worked on this a little bit by drilling a hole in the bottom of the drain tube and plugged the top higher one, which improved the draining ability. Also, you might wanna put a line of silicone around the rubber boot where it makes contact with the housing. That will keep even more water out

Not happy about your issue but i am glad im not the only one to notice the "weird" pattern on the black housing headlights...i assume yours are the sabersport right?
Are you running HID's with dual beams. I installed the HID's at the same time as the headlamps so i was never able to conclude the weird light pattern was from the headlight housing and not the HID's. What do you think?
