Black magics and Safari bar

I have a brand new set of Hella Black Magic lights sitting here and wanted to mount them on the westin safari bar I just bought. Upon investigation I discovered that they are too big for this bar:bash: . I was wondering if anyone had done this and how they went about it? thanks..

I have seen it done before without any modification. They should fit fine. I have Hella 500s which I am pretty sure are the same size, and they fit great without any modification, there is room to spare.

I think the black magics are in almost 1.5 inches bigger.

Black magics- 8 7/16"
Hella 500- 6 7/8"

According to the hella website.

well there you go, i thought they were the same lights just one was black when off.
I know it has been done here on the site, ill try to find some people that have it.

here you go, it looks like this guy used two little plates to move the lights over an inch or two. shouldnt be too hard to do this yourself, you can probably find something similar at home depot.

alright thanks for all your help.. Now I'm wondering if I should just go with the hella 500's or something smaller for cheaper. But i guess ill just have to look into modifying the safari bar.

Yeah thats what i was thinking. Or I could get some KC slimlites, i really like those. Hey Iron clad lou, Considering I just bought the Safari bar off of you, you wanna buy the Hella black magic lights off of me??? lol.. Well I'll just have to see when i get the bar to see if i want to modify it or get some different lights...

you did the same thing I did, I had order the safari bar and the Black Magics and then realized they didn't fit. I looked into the mod that is posted on this thread. After awhile I just sold the black magics and ended up getting the PIAAs that I have mounted now. of course I went the other way and ended up paying more for the PIAAs, but I really like the blue running light they gave off when they were not on, plus the ability to switch between bright white and yellow fog lights in one unit.
