Black + Sun + Birds = Damage

Moved from a house with a two car garage to an apartment while our new home is being built. Therefore, no garage anymore. Well, came out this morning and had bird $#(% all over the hood and scratches everywhere. I guess the bird saw it's reflection and went on the attack. Any advice besides not washing it so birds cannot see their reflection???

That sucks man. I don't know of any way to stop the reflection besides the obvious like a cover, maybe do the the boaters and put a fake owl on your 4runner while its park at the apt.

clean it up, use some scratchx2.0 to deal with the major stuff and then wax the shit out of it.

it should offer some protection as bird shit and the like is inevitable. wash it regularly to keep the bird crap off since it can damage the finish if left on for prolonged periods.

other than getting a cover for the truck you dont have many options. well... other then pulling out a ruger 10/22 and going to town for some revenge :sniper: :D

I don't think my apartment complex neighbors would appreciate the BB gun. Actually, I was out there today and one of the neighbors told me who the culprit is. It's a Cardinal. He said it was out there for five minutes this morning pacing from the left to the right of the front bumper trying to attack itself.

Actually considering the "owl" method but worried my neighbors will steal it. Maybe I can print a picture of one and tape it to the inside of my front window.

By the way, only three months until I have a garage again ...
 
Get a few real-looking plastic snakes, put them where the birds are and they will not tolerate the threat of a snake. I have many homeowners use this method on their decks/rails to keep the birds from S****** all over the place. It works, at least for a while.
 
i have a black car and it's been pooped on twice in a week. one is it kind of scratched and i am think about using my insurance to fix it. i have a low comp deductible, so if it worse than i think i may go that route. i am hoping i was it and detail and it goes away.

if its minor, i'd try scratchX2.0 and some wax before going the insurance route.

haha, dude, I got a scoped snipe that shoots lead pellets if you want it for bird watching.. hell if I had a new 4runner I'd have a long range sensor w/ an auto minigun or flamethrower for everytime birds came by.. :D :flamethrwoer2:
