yea it's sad that they lowered it from the presale photos we've seen.. i feel like that was a lure/bad call on whoevers part.
I am kicking myself for adding running boards , but as a family man with small children I just thought it was better at the time. Once I add the TRD rims I'll probably remove them. Not sure yet. Need some ideas I guess.

Yep I knew that. I was just commenting on the looks of mine vs the TRD. Does the TRD have better components? Of course, but the height of the SR5 is hardly noticeable. These pics prove it. The reason I brought up my running boards is only because with them added on my SR5 appears lower overall which is why I'm kicking myself for doing it as I mentioned earlier.

Wow that's not bad, around here dealers are charging $2-4k above msrp for them.
Still $2k over invoice is a lot.
My dealer said "we will only get one so we know we can profit from this vehicle that is so popular.".

Did you lift the front end yet?
don't see a need to. is that a thing with TRD pros that i don't know about?
i test drove a limited, trail and the TRD, made my decision based on that an the fact that it didn't have bunch of silly add ons that some of the other models had....sliding trays, kdds, low hanging plastics, soft suspensions or shocks that would melt on 10 mile washboard rods etc
i do my hard core off roading on my heavily modified 99 Land rover discovery and looking to use the 4runner as the more family friendly overlanding for when i want to take the whole family. so far the truck only needs better body protection and a good full length rack (hence the no need for sunroofs and such)to do what i need it to do. I'm glad it has a good solid suspension set up and doesn't have gismos like KDDS and such that will only be a headache down the road. And bonus, its BY FAR the best looking of the all the 4runner versions imo and having a suspension with remote res set up ( the kind that actually stand up to real off roading) that also happens to be factory warrantied is a bigger deal than must here seem to realize...IF you actually off road any.

Many 4Runner owners dont off road actually. Nothing new there. The main issue with the TRD is the bad marketing and lies before the rollout.

Why do you care? You decided to purchase something other than a Pro before you saw a Pro in person. I waited until I saw mine and test drove it before I bought it.
Sounds to me like you are trying to justify your purchase now.
Not at all. A non off roader like myself can easily justify a less expensive T4R and .5 height on the front. Many others can as well. That is why they make different 4Runner styles. If Toyota lied something about the SR5 I would post it on here as well.
I'll take the $5k+ savings only because I don't use my SUV to crawl under spaces and jump over hills.
