Black vinyl OR carbon fiber

Getting ready to DE-Chrome the T4R. I was prepared to go with all black vinyl instead of paint for the sole reasons that after severals years of use I have come to the conclusion that vinyl is 100 times easier to use, lasts longer, is more durable to stone chips and is reversible if needed. I was going to do black on all chrome and the roof rack and then got a sample of the 3M Dinoc carbon fiber film. Man, this stuff is like 3D and looks ultra cool. How do you think all the chrome would look in carbon vs. black? Keep in mind that my 4R is silver.

I would go with the black. Carbon fiber is cool, but only if its real. My personal opinion is that fake CF looks cheesy. Like you're trying to be something you're not.

I just got a 10x4 of di noc. Going t o do this to the chrome tomorrow. You can see it in my profile pic of the grill. IMO it will be subtle enough not to look too ricey.

what are your guys' opinions about doing the di noc to the two pillars on either side of the rear window/gate? too much?

Don't go overboard! Just do the chrome...

If you can do the Toyota and "4Runner" badges, that would be wicked!

this is the cheapest guy, by far. and believe me, i checked all of ebay. i was a little hesitant, as it comes from overseas, but it showed up in a reasonable amount of time (3wks to VA).

You don't need to buy that much. I needed enough for the roof and interior parts.
The only problem you're going to come across is it's only sold in 4ft wide sections. So you'll probably need a 4x6 piece.

No doubt always cheaper ordering outside the country, you just always take a chance though. I marked your guy on Ebay for future reference. Any tips on removing the rear garnish? I've tried everything trying to open the service manuals but to no luck.
