BlackVue DR550 Dual Camera Dash Cam Installed

Finally got around to finishing up my install of my dash cam. It has both front and rear cameras and records in 1080P for the front and 720P for the rear. Install was super simple, just ran the wire for the rear cam under the edge of the headliner from the back of the truck to the front. Wire comes out where the mirror wires are and into the front camera. Never even had to take off any of the interior trim. Power is connected to the accessory plug in the center console by the USB plug. Sorry for the multiple posts but for some reason I can only upload one pic at a time. Now for the pics:

Rear camera is removable for when loading tall items. Just disconnect the wire and slide it out from the headliner.

Wiring for rear camera and power source are tucked under the headliner and come out where the mirror wiring is.

Front camera is stuck to the windshield via supplied 3M tape. Also shows the wire connections to the unit.

One last pic of the front camera a little further back. Video is crystal clear and can include info such as speed and GPS location. Also includes WiFi for viewing video on your smart phone via an app.

Nice, I've had my eye on the Blackvue dashcam for a long time, it is a really great system. Clean install as well.

BlackVue makes fantastic systems! Video quality is excellent. The install in the 4Runner is stupid simple. Not one interior trim panel had to be removed. I say do it!
 
Where is the best place to buy this system? I have been looking for one and love your setup. Unsure if I need the camera in the back. I had a MVA earlier this year and have to fight it out in small claims court because the other drivers is lying so this is a need for me now. Also, how did you run the wires for such a clean install?

I bought mine from Amazon.com, I would check there first or directly from Blackvue. My system is an old model but you still may be able to find it at a discount. I also highly recommend the rear camera. Running the wires is really easy. Starting from the back camera it literally just tucks up under the headliner and trim pieces all the way to the front of the truck where it comes out at the mirror. Not one part or trim piece had to be removed. If I get some time this weekend I'll post some more pics showing exactly how the wiring is run.

I personally will not drive a vehicle without a dash cam. I can't tell you how many times I've recorded people doing stupid sh*t that would make your head spin. :der:
 
Looks like a nice clean install! Does your dash cam wiring have 12v to 5v convertor? Are you powering it from the mirror?
