Well since you ask....

1. HDPE (basically the plastic cutting boards are made of, but thicker) skid plates to place over the stock ones
2. New Lower Control Arms in the Rear (its only a matter of time before I bend one of mine)
3. Reinforced front diff backet (its a weak point on our vehicles and if you wheel them hard for years they can break, which causes $2k+ in damage)
4. Dif Drop Kit (to take away a little stress on the CV's)
5. HAM Radio/APRS Tracker
6. Replacing the roof lights with the larger Hella 700FF's (8.5" compared to the current 6")
7. Duel Battery and a Fridge
8. Maybe a 1/2" body lift, so I stop rubbing the top of the fenders under full compression
9. Internal Winch Mount in the Front Bumper
10. Who knows.....

Blair, always liked your setup man. There's nothing like seeing a 4Runner being tooled on the driveway - parts all spread out... etc. Hey I'm probably an hour or two south of you in Murrieta and once I get my off-road gear going I'd love to wheel, learn, and tool with you. :cheers:

I like, certainly has developed. Im more of a "do it right" the first time and not constantly spend more and more money until you get what you really want; however, with mods its really hard.

I like though! How many miles do you have on it? Is it your DD?

Wrenching in the driveway is definitely the only way to do it! Feel free to join in wheeling whenever, even if you do not have recovery gear, tools etc.. I should have more than enough. You have 4wd and a CB, so are basically good to go in my book. Any idea what type of wheeling interests you? Rocks, fast stuff etc..

Thanks man. I am definitely all for "do it right the first time" (as in not needing to upgrade later, not in that I do it all at once) as well and have done a pretty good job on that thus far on my vehicle. The only exception has been the lift/suspension. The spacers have always been a temperary thing and when I decided to upgrade to coilovers, I definitely did that right the first time. It was just hard to justify buying $1400 coilovers when I did not know what type of wheeling I would be doing/ how much weight I would be carrying/ how often they would be used hence why I played around with various spacers first. I wish I could do everything at once, but I definitely would not want to be the one paying that bill.

And yes, it is my DD. I have a little over 35,000 miles on it.

And yes, an ARB locker is in the future, but I am not sure how near that future is. Right now I am trying to attack the mods in the order that I would find most useful. Also I look at the price on the mods and try to figure out if it is a wise investment. It is not to say an air locker is not extremely useful, definitely is, I just think for $1,000 I would get many more benefits and enjoyment out of a fridge and duel battery setup, for example, just because my current runs are definitely more high speed runs or expedition style trips where more often then not my locker would not be used.

There have been cases where I would have benefitted from a locker, but just not too many yet. I am still amazed by how well the ATRAC works, and when it fails... well that is why we have tow straps and winches

This is probably my current "to-do" list, it was earlier on in the thread and it is now probably in the order I am going forth

I agree with you on the locker. I will get one, but the question is when will it actually be worth it for the runs we do? It doesn't keep my drinks cold

You can get a locker, then you can get up the obstacle so I can use you as an anchor to winch myself up. :hello:
