Blake level switch mod to disable VSC/TRAC/ABS

On your brake level switch there is three wires. If I interupt the red wire with a on/off switch in the cab to disable these functions is there any downfalls or am I going to cause an electrical short somewhere?

I saw this guy on youtube do it and its exactly the mod im looking for.

I know there is much more complex ways to do this mod, but I am just looking to be able to drift / slide or play around in 2wd or 4hi without VSC/TRAC/ABS

So will this mod work just like unplugging the brake level sensor?

Please chime in if you know, thanks.

Man... Thanks for this. I hate the sound of TC going off when I dont expect it.

Im not sure why There was not a bypass from toyota in the first place..

Is there a way to turn the TC back on without shutting on and off the vehicle?

There has to be a way since my Acura and past x5 had the option.

Toyota did add a bypass in 2008.

I suppose if a few people had been killed or injured from the VSC taking over control of things at the wrong time, there might have been a TSB for earlier trucks.

Few cars actually let you completely disable the VSC/Traction Control, they just give you a wider berth before it engages. This is a common gripe with modern sports cars as they still try to correct themselves when you have fun, despite all the nice "Off" switches.

VSC may be "disabled," but TC will probably still kill the engine if the system detects too much instability in driving.
