TRAC Off Mod for 2003 V8 4WD

First I'm really sorry for beating a dead horse but after reading multiple threads, multiple times, I'm still slightly confused. I've read multiples threads on 03 V8 owners doing this mod but can't seem to find a cohesive one for what I want to do.
Because I have an 03 V8, I have the wiring harness behind the dash for the trac off switch. I've read how to get a factory trac off switch and make it on/off and not momentary. But I'm unsure of what to do with the wires coming off of that blue connector harness. Mine has a red/white wire that in the TIS wiring diagrams shows a trac off switch which I know is for a V6.
What's the easiest way to perform the trac off mod for an 03 V8 using a modified factory switch plugged into the factory blue harness that doesn't involve disabling the ABS?

Ok I "think" I have this figured out after more reading of SSt4r thread. My skid control ECU is under the dash on my 03. I think all I have to do is cut the red/white wire at pin 26 and tap it into the red/blue wire at pin 3 as illustrated by SSt4r pic below. For my 03, TIS shows different pin numbers.

Then order either 84988-AE010 (trac off) or 84988-35070 (squiggly lines) switches, modify the switch and just plug it in. Will either switch work with the blue harness? I'm guessing it just depends on what you want the switch to say?

Does this seem correct?

I'm figuring this out for my 2003 V8 as well. I am tempted to just try the VSC/TRAC/ABS mod described in this thread since it involves interaction with one wire: Disable VSC, TRAC, and ABS without damaging factory wiring

Here are steps to convert a factory momentary switch to an on/off switch: How to convert an OEM momentary switch | Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum

Part number for the Toyota OEM TRAC switch shown in that thread is 84988-35070

I tried using staples as described and it worked for a bit but the staples bend too easily in the switch, so I want to find a better wire. Going to try a paperclip next.

What you posted here is what is covered in this thread I believe: VSC Off, ATRAC On Mod complete!

That's the direction I'm leaning right now.

Thanks for that link!

I've read that one too. It just started getting hazy to me with all of the different years and most I saw were V6s.
