Howdy!
I have to admit, I’ve been lurking here and learning without joining. I hope to change that with contributions of my new project. I was actually sitting with my wife in the cubicle at the Jeep dealer ready to buy a Rubicon Unlimited when we both had this moment of clarity and looked at each other and said: “I like the 4Runner better”. So that afternoon, I bought the vehicle I’ve wanted for the past 25 years – finally!
Having waited that long I was determined to do it right and a lot of research (from this very site) preceded my decision. What you taught me was significant as I was leaning heavily toward a new TRD Pro and learned through the many contributors here that a Trail Edition was a better choice considering the modifications I would be making would be essentially taking off many of the parts that make the TRD Pro the vehicle it is. So I’m psyched to be part of your community and will post pics on a build page as the money comes in.
What I have:
Trail Edition Premium w/ KDSS in Magnetic Gray
The plan thus far and always contingent upon what I learn from you guys is:
Icon Stage 6 Suspension
BFG AT KO II (on either current TE wheels Powder Coated Black) or TRD Pro wheels.
Winch – thinking synthetic, but don’t know which brand yet.
Undercover Hidden Winch Mount System
Baja Rack
Either Demello Hybrid Sliders (wife’s already complaining about getting in it) or Shrockworks Sliders
Complete skid plate system - undecided
Deep Cycle Battery
