Hey, I'm your brother (now) and I really want that SC/rdoor/wheels/tires/cockpit/bumper/locker/lights... awe for get the list... the whole truck... badly enough for you to force yourself to let it go...
no seriously, awesome build. what else can you do to this 4runner?
I love the fact that you got around just fine without the SC on 35's... some gears and tactful driving.
keep it up, I mean the pictures... it feels like a movie ended and I have no idea how it ended.

I have had a 1998 Gen3 SR5 for almost a decade, and I am planning on doing some mods to it. I just had a couple questions for you, since your rig, or something similar is what I am striving for. Were you able to fit the 315's without any problems with rubbing? I am leaning towards the Sonoran Steel 1.2 lift, and probably a body lift as well. I really like the way the 315's (or 35's) look on the 4Runners and that is what I plan on sticking under it. Also, do you have an overview of all the mods you have done?

Hey...thanks. As for the rubbing with the 35's, i have completely eliminated it with some cutting of the fender/pinchweld and some patching with the welder. Ofcourse having an aftermarket UCA's contributed to it as well as the casters parameters are adjusted to the positive side essentially forwarding the tire...per se.

The housing for the Field Monitor Unit sittin in the middle...i just made a 2 fiberglass molds then couple them together.

Just finished reading your build thread all the way through, and let me just say Wow!! Your runner is truly an inspiration. Everything you've done to it both DIY and new parts are just immaculate. I was lucky enough to come across a picture of your rig on a Google search just when I started reading up on these trucks. But I guess with a rig like yours, it's bound to go around the web. I got handed down our family 98' sr5 from the old man. And I'm fairly new to the truck/lifting/wheeling/etc scene, but I've been a car guy since I had my license. So I'm really excited to learn and be part of this new venture, more so after seeing your runner. I am definitely going to take some ideas and queues from your build if you don't mind haha. And probably shoot some PM's your way about your setup. Hopefully you're still around and your rig as well.

Oh sweet Jesus! Stunning ride!Alrighty....so I downshifted to a 16" wheels by Level 8 in matte black combined with 305 70's this time.
Here's when I had them stored in my gym room, the smell of fresh rubber was too much to take when contained in a smallish unit..

I've since tested them in mud and sand and they've done well so far. The KM2's will be my full set of spares..for longer travels and such. I thought I did ok choosing the wheel and tire combo....your thoughts?
Question: any negatives noticed after you added your body lift?

Just read this entire thread from page 1 to 68, took me a while but man was it worth it. I feel like I've known you for years at this point. I just picked up my first 4runner, an 02 SR5 and I cannot wait to begin the journey. Your T4R will definitely be a source of inspiration. Thanks for being such a critical member of the forum and providing such a great example of ingenuity and creativity for the rest of us. :cheers:
