Bleeding cooling system after TB and water pump

First, thanks for all the information on this site. Nice to here from guys who have "been then done that". "95 4runner 3.0. 171,000 mi. I have owned it for about 2 months now, great shape, runs great very happy with it.(wish i would have gotten an 3.4 though :wink2:). No information on when, if the TB had been done so I thought now would be a good time . I replaced TB,WP,TS,BRGs, and adjuster. Flushed the cooling system. After it was all together, 50/50 coolant, it would get hot at idle, fast (never let it go much over half). Acted like the TS wasn't opening, tried all the tricks to bleed the air to no avail. Getting ready to pull the TS at half time of the game and thought I would pull the upper water outlet hose. It was dry and I poured in almost 1 more gallon of 50/50 mix. FIXED  So if you are having trouble bleeding the coolant system, and have time to read this  you might try filling the engine through the upper hose.

Glad you could get it fixed. After my rebuild I put a T fitting in one of the heater hoses ( Highest point on the system) and that bled it like a champ.

EDIT: Dont click the link above. I think its spammer, the link go to a lighting store. haha.
