Blizzard Pearl vs. Black

Hey all newcomer here, last time I owned/drove a SUV was in '98 (T4R SR5). Seriously considering purchasing a 2011 T4R. Cannot decide between BP and Black (would get black leather interior with either color). Went to test drive the SR5 and to see the colors in person, but I think seeing the colors in person made the decision even tougher? So would like to hear from some you T4R veterans that currently own Black or Blizzard Pearl. Let me know your thoughts/opinions.

*side note: I'll probably be running black 18's, either Rhino's or Ultra Gauntlets.

I own a BP and love it, but that's only because I've wanted a vehicle in this color since I was old enough to drive. Truth be told though, black is my favorite color on almost any vehicle "IF" you're willing to put the time in to keep it clean and swirl free.

If you're meticulous about your vehicle, I'd say go black, especially considering the wheels you want to run but being a BP owner, I love my color and from what I've seen here, BP is the most popular color choice on the 5G's.

On a separate note, I've only seen (1) BP with a black interior (I wanted black too, ended up with Khaki) since there wasn't a dealership within a reasonable drive that had one in stock.

You will prob get more people saying BP because that is hands down the most popular color. I have black and I love it. It is a mean looking color that is amazing looking when its clean. That being said its a PITA keeping clean (which I don't mind). Also, if you are going with black wheels I am a big fan of contrast. Black wheels on a white truck are great looking because there is a nice contrast. Black wheels with black tires on a black truck give no contrast and it looks, well IMO slightly boring and its been done a lot.

I just got a new BP Limited last week. I ended up paying more for the BP b/c it is popular and it was very difficult to find one with the options I wanted.

I chose BP b/c I've owned a black car and it was too hot in the summer. My wife's white car is noticeably cooler in the summer. I live in Houston, so heat is a major issue.
 
I'm a fan of contrasting exterior and interior colors. If you can't decide on the exterior color, let the interior color decide for you (if you have a preference). That's basically what I did. I was thinking of ordering a BP, but I knew I wanted the tan interior. However, I thought I would eventually get tired of the BP with tan, so went with the black - just like the 01 I was trading in. :)
 
BP with Black interior here. Love the contrast. Not to mention the BP accentuates the architecture of the body....
 
I was in the same boat as you. I drove both BP and Black limiteds around for 45min each, got out to look at both in the bright sun light, at different angles ect... I love the black but didnt want the PITA task of cleaning it, swirl marks and dust 10 min after you clean it. The BP is amazing in the bright sunlight, soooo easy to keep clean, no swirl marks and stays clean for more then 10 min after cleaning. The dark tinted windows on it really looks nice and the chrome isnt as flashy looking. I went with the BP with black interior and very pleased with it, i get loads of compliments on it. Good luck.
 
Go with the Black. I have a BP myself. I like the color, but each time I see a T4R, it's BP. Getting tired of seeing too many BP on the road. There is one at my office building, 2 other around the sub-division I live.
 
I got black...have always bought black cars.

People who bought black love black. And people with BP love BP...

It's a personal preference and if you're not sure...just wait a few weeks and look around as you drive to see which you think looks better.
 
BLACK!!!

Looks tough and can lalso ook formal on the town. I've had mine since August and have only washed it twice. It looks just as good dirty as it does clean IMO - it's a truck, it's supposed to be dirty.

I love black but my wife saw the BP and fell in love... if it was me regardless of time spent for cleaning, i'd still take black.

I have to agree with most everyone that BP is the color to go with if you wish a great color and eay of care. IMO opinion black is great, but the upkeep takes "dedication". I once owned a black fullsize Bronco and it looked great when detailed......however my signature line speaks for itself.

Hindsight is 20/20 but if I had to do it over again I would buy the BP Limited with black interior .The contrast with black TE exterior parts or black exterior parts in general would be astonishing IMO.Especially with black rims.

I still love my easy upkeep silver metallic though! Hardly ever have to wash it and you can hardly tell.Leaves me time to do other stuff to it!

I love black and nothing looks better when clean but after owning several, I don't have the time for the constant upkeep of it. Especially down here in this dusty ,windy arse place in the summer.I had a black Yukon Denali down here before my last runner and it would get noticeably dusty in the summer and pollen covered in the springtime 10 minutes after washing/waxing it.About drove me crazy!
 
Even though I hate the work involved in keeping a black vehicle all sparkly, I had no choice in the matter, short of placing a factory order. I ended up with a BLACK Trail Edition and I spend a lot of time in the wand-wash bays. I like the looks of the truck in black but white is THE color for expedition vehicles (if you're that way inclined). Silver metallic is probably the most practical color.

Now if you're planning to actually 'wheel your T4R, black is actually a great color. What with years of inevitable trail rash and pinstriping from branches, it's easy to touch-up with barbecue paint!:D
 
Thanks for the replies thus far. I think you all have me leaning towards BP... I own a silver Lexus right now, and I think I might have gotten use to the ease of care it takes. I realized I've never owned a white car, and the pearlescent paint does look pretty good. Also it seems that there are more black T4R's around here than any other color. I guess it will come down to what I can track down locally. I'd be happy with either really.

Also would you guys know if will be ok (no lift/trimming) if I plan on running a 18X9 rim on a 265/65 tire? Could I fit a little bigger tire, without rubbing issues?
