blower mod?

So I went to this marina shop to get the deckplate for my truck and when I was looking around the shop they had a blower there that blows 146 cubic feet of air per minute. there is an electric motor in it that can be wired in. Here is a picture. Anyone have any input on whether this would hurt your intake? it is 3'' in diameter.

What is this blower meant to be used for? Looks pretty cool and I'm sure it would be easy to rig into our trucks. But the only thing I think would hurt your air intake is it's speed. If it doesn't blow hard enough it might even restrict the air coming into the engine. Also, is it always on? It will take the computer sometime to recognize the "change in air" vs. what it is already set to and adjust accordingly.

Even when you just change an OEM filter to an aftermarket like K&N or True Flow, it takes some time before you see improvement.

Any other thoughts on this anyone?

Hmmmmm
At 500 RPM you are pumping about 1500 litres of air per minute. 1 cubic foot equals 28 litres....

1500/28....53 CFM.

Not much to spare for more than idling.

Or am I missing a major part of this?

Its used to vent fumes from the sealed inboard engine compartment of a gasoline powered marine vessel. You run the blower for a few minutes to avoid having an explosion when the engine fires up.

Its not going to boost manifold pressure.
