blown head gasket to engine swap

so i have been having some problems with my car overheating lately. so i ended up taking my car to a toyota shop down here in SoCal and they told me that they think that the head is blown (even though they pressurized the system and there wasnt a very big leak, but they found hydrocarbons in my coolant.)

but anyways. i was either looking at getting a rebuilt or i would want to try and swap a third generation engine into my '94 (is that even possible?) and would i be able to put a newer tranny in too?
