So I blew my HG on my less than 2 yr rebuilt motor messing around with the Supra Intake mod. Think issue was mix of crappy headers and HG bolts didn't get re-torqued after rebuild not handling the increased air/fuel. (Was an awesome improvement on test drive until I blew HG)
While I'm deployed my bro-in-law is going to tear it down and check everything out. I only drove about a mile on it and it looks like I got lucky but we'll see.
If all is well he's putting it all back together with new gaskets. While it's apart I decided to do flamethrower injector mod and LCE headers. Anything else while it's apart? Supra intake mod is going backburner until it's up and running on new headers.
Don't need the dump the 3.0 comments lol, I love this thing and want to get everything I can out of it taking my time researching and finding 4.3l Vortec to drop in it.
On top of the LCE headers what about a Cat-Back? Anyone done one? JCWhitney says it's a passenger exit, that true? Single - 2" Cat-Back System - Super Turbo? Muffler - P/N: 17418 - DynoMax® Performance Exhaust
Thoughts on ditching CAT? Seen a lot of mixed reviews on it.
