The typo aside what exactly is the red high lighted mod you mentioned, I did a forum search and no hits so I would like to know??
Edited: Never mind, I found the mod after a google search, still not sure what your issue is other than something in your install has a short in the circuit, I would go over your connections again insuring you don't have a ground wire hooked up wrong or a hot wire hook to ground, etc.. I would first try disconnecting the e-brake mod first and see it that solves the fuse issue, if not reconnect it and keep checking each wire connection one at a time until the fuse issue is resolved and then reconfigure what caused the issue.
Electrical issues are a pain and sometimes the only way is to work one wire at a time, if you disconnect several wires and the issue goes away you really don't know which wire was the problem.

I wasn't able to solve it. Instead, I decided to keep the cigarette lighter disconnected and I would run the inverter from the hatch outlet to where the 2nd row seats where my son can plug in his ipad. I'm not that good at this type of work and so this half ass job is good enough for me
I seem to be one of the only one's with this type of issue so yours will probably be trouble free. Good luck.
