blue tinted headlights

Ok, so I got the clear bra installed on my rig and the dude talked me into getting a blue tint over my headlights instead of the clear saying blue on blue (I have a stratospheric mica color) would look awesome. Well, when he was done, I wasn't too hot on the blue headlights. I might be able to have him replace it for free (since there are a few imperfections in the install). But I wanted to solicit the opinions of some 4runner experts first!

I dont know how to post multiple pics in one thread, so here is the original look. The new lights will be following.

here is another angle
Incidentally, the lights look great at night (not so blue, not so white as original). The light output is still white, maybe a bit dimmer.

Let me know what you guys think.

I personally don't care for the look.

The front bar is damn cool , what type is that and where did you get it ?? It blend's in very nice with the line's of the truck. Are there light tab's on it ??

FYI---Check with your local police dept. I know in VA it is illegal to put any COLORED film on your headlights. You could just put on the clear vinyl and call it a day. Also, most inspection stations will not do your state inspection with that on.

That is Toyota's Sport Bumper Trim, as they call it. It is all plastic and there are not light tabs.

thanks for the replies. I didn't like it much and you guys reiterated my own thoughts. I'm going to call the guy to see if he can replace it for free due to imperfections, and if not, i'll just pull it off and lose the money.

Also, border411, you are right, any color change to headlights is illegal in california also (which the dude didn't tell me until it was all done). I cant use that as an excuse though since I also got my windows tinted even though that is also illegal here. The windows are light enough (matches the rest of the glass) that it shouldn't draw attention.

sticker city (stickercity.com) in sherman oaks, ca. It cost $550. I checked with star shield armor (invisiblebra.com) in irwindale, ca and one place in calabassas and they charged about the same. Sherman oaks was just the closest to me. The hood looked like a really tough application, but the rest didn't look that hard. As with all professionals though, I'm sure they make it look easier than it is, and the difference is in the details.

I agree with other members about if it gives less light output, i wouldn't do this 'cool' mod. If it was for a car show, do it! I saw a yellow clear tint on a 350z. looks great.

clear bra install is simple. just buy a blue tint and cover over it. of course clean it before you do. But the mod i did was an eyelid. you might notice it but it gives some agressive look to my 4runner. even though it's black already. electrical tape is cool. HAHA. here's a picture.
