So, I decided to finally get around to putting in an auxiliary fuse block in the 4Runner. I've had the Bluesea fuse block for a few years now. Ordered a sheet of polycarbonate and a circuit breaker from Amazon.
This is a pretty straightforward project.
Created a template from some cardboard. Cut the poly to shape with my jigsaw and a metal cutting blade (fine).
Bent the edges. Clamped the poly to a wood block, heated it with a heat gun until it became malleable, and folded it over. Originally, used my hands to try and fold it, but that only made it uneven. I used the wide part of my speed square to push the last four bends down and that worked perfectly. It's aluminum, so not only did it make a flat edge on the bend, but it took some of the heat out of the poly, making it take shape quicker.
A couple of test fits.
Everything lined up. Pulled the plastic protective layer off.
Everything mounted in place.
Took a couple of trips to Lowe's to find the right hardware. All in all, this is probably a 4 hour project that I did in 6.
