So, my bluetooth and nav stopped working a while back for no clear reason. I had searched the forum and nothing was an exact match to my problem, though a few people had the same bluetooth issues (none with nav as well, though).
To be clear, this wasn't a disconnect or pairing issue. I had two problems:
1) The bluetooth function simply grayed out and you could not access it at all. 2) The nav would stay on a sort of loading screen, but would never load.
Resets didn't do anything. I couldn't update it because I could not connect via bluetooth. I disconnected the battery and left it overnight, but it didn't change anything. I was ready to take it in to the dealership, but I had read that people with similar issues were charged a couple hundred dollars or more for the fix.
Here's where it gets interesting: I took it in for an oil change at the local Shell station, because I moved recently and couldn't make it across the city to my trusted mechanic. They did their thing which apparently comes with a general inspection. Well, I got the car back and half way home I noticed everything was working again. I called to ask them what they did, but they seemed defensive and thought I was upset or something. They stuck to the story that it was just an oil change and I didn't have time to push any harder.
Again, I couldn't be happier that it is all working again and all for the price of a synthetic oil change, but I'd love to know what the fix was. Any idea what they might have done during an oil change/basic inspection that would affect the computer like that?
