Bluetooth Phone and Music

OK, I've read the older posts and can't find the answer to this.

Up until now I've used an ipod in the glove box and sync'ed my iphone for the handsfree. I tried to set up the Blu via iphone for both music and phone and can't seem to get it to work.

When I sync the phone first, it syncs the phone (one set of password numbers) then I try the music (second set of numbers) and it won't sync. I delete the phone and reverse the order and it still won't sync the music blu even using the password for the music.

I'm usually pretty good with these things, anyone?

I know the knee jerk answer to this would be, "just use the ipod in the glove box". I've figured out how to set the EQ for individual songs in iTunes and would like to navigate with the phone to hear different songs for EQ settings.

with your phone connected via BT have you tried just playing music from the iphone? does it play thru it's own speakers and not the car?

I didn't have to enter the number again to get the audio to work. I did however end up having to delete the phone and start completely over, doing phone pairing first, then setting it as an audio player.

Does the phone have a little icon in the bottom right of the iPod app that looks like a speaker? You can use that to switch between the car audio and the external speaker on the phone.

It's still not 100%, it doesn't find the phone sometimes. And if you ever hit the pause button on the dash it's all over.

Just went and tried. Music coming out of phone, no sync with AUX or Blu music on headunit. The phone is sync'ed though. It's giving me two different passcodes for the phone and the music yet the phone doesn't prompt me to input the passcode for the music.

Tried that, no speaker icon. The address in the phone and music is the same too. My phone doesn't seem to be streaming audio. It's a 1st generation iPhone, is that the problem?

OK, I've focused on the phone now instead of the headunit. It seems the 1st gen iPhones are not capable of streaming audio like the 3G's with the new software 3.0. I feel better now, it was driving me crazy.

I think the issues with "Pause" we've seen with the headunit is the iPhone's fault too. Explains why the Blackberry crowd, seems being eccentric does have its benefits sometimes :nerd: (kidding), doesn't have the same problems.

Oh well, I'll wait for the 4G next month.

Did you sync it as a media device or as a phone? Sync as a multimedia device.

Sorry to high jack this thread but i've got the exact same issues. I have a new SR5 and have been able to pair my iPhone 3GS as EITHER a Phone or music player but not both. Am I missing something here? I'm read a bunch of threads already but have only found this thread to be the closest to my problem.

Any help would be great!

^^ do it as a phone first. Then select it as a music player. Should just work then. If you do it as a music player first the phone will never work, you have to remove it and start over.

Mine still doesn't work 100% of the time, but it's not too bad. Saving $$ for aftermarket hotness.

Thanks for replying. I did basically what you said. I had to delete the phone off first then start over. Odd thing is, after I paired it as a phone it just automatically worked with streaming audio too. So i'm not 100% sure why it did that but i'm happy about it! Thanks again.
