Boat towing

Hi all. Im just wondering how well the 3.4 can really tow. Im thinking of buying a 19ft open bow searay and I have the tow package with the bigger radiator and everything. Will the runner still have enough power to go on the highway? I had a friend that had a 1992 3.0 and he burned up his tranny pulling a similar boat. any info greatly appreciated.

i never have a problem with this,....bayliner 175.

before i had a 20 ft capri and i maintain 65-70 on the highway! only that fast cause i have overdrive off when im on the high way, you should too! your friend may have left his in drive thus causing him to add more wear on the tranny!!

best thing to do..get a boat and buy a wakeboard. i have plans for a DIY wakeboard pylon ($60) if your interested...let me know!

yeah you can get a good size boat.

i wouldnt go with a 30 foot searay or anything but most 30 and 32+ are not good for trailers anyways..

A $60 wakeboard pylon would be awesome!!! How are you gonna make that work? Are you doing all the welding yourself?

I know the boat is gonna become like my 4runner. im gonna end up spending so much money adding and upgrading it. Hopefully I can still buy it though, h might sell it to his neighbor first. thanks for the tip though.
