Body lift & 33's

I just took everything out of my runner and went to talk to the guys at 4 Wheel parts about a body lift. They said that it costs about $1000.00 to have one done and about $900 of that is labor because they have to take everything out (seats, carpet, etc) to get to the bolts blah blah blah.

I was thinking since I already have everything out just take it in like it is and try and save a few bucks. Has anyone had experience with this? I already have a 3.5 inch suspension lift but I want to be able to get 33" tires on it (eventually) so they recommended a 1-1.5 " body lift. Also does anyone have pics of a runner with 33's?

Cool- Those are 33's in your picture?
 
Beware of 4Wheel Parts...they'll take you all the way to the bank and do crappy work while they're at it. $900 labor for a BL?? You got to be kidding me! With simple hand tools and a floor jack, it's a piece of cake to do by yourself. Heck, I've seen other independent 4wd shops only charge $200-$300 for a BL.

Thats kinda what I was thinkin.... In Vegas though we have very limited options for 4 wheel shops. Can you really do it yourself with just a regular suv jack?

Not an suv bottle jack, but a rolling floor jack. You've got to be able to lift the body off the frame to slide in the body lift pucks.

BTW, you should be able to fit 33's w/ a 3.5" susp lift.

Awesome thanks for that. I think the guy a 4WP was just a moron. When i told him I had a T4R he said I should upgrade to a dodge ram........I told him I couldnt afford to be fixing it every other week.

If 33's are good then 35" must be BETTER! New Goal 35's

Sonoran steel is a good option.

I went with a 4crawler body lift.

Here is a pic of the jack i used:

if you know someone with a hi lift you can do it that way as well. crank your e brake of course, loosen both sides of the mounts, then place the hi lift in the middle of the doors, place a 4x4 piece of wood running the length of the pinch weld and make sure its evenly snug between the pinch and jack, slowly crank up 2-4 times and voila, ease it back down do the other side same way, then bolt down afterwards
 
i got 32's stock, well 265/75... so you could def get 33's like everyone else has said, i just thought i give my 2 cents so you would feel reassured. :bigok:
