Forgive me for the dumb-ness ( :bonk: ) here, but I need some help from the experts....
My 4r has the Revtek 3" lift kit and Nitto 285/75/16s. I've had this kit installed for almost 2 years now. One thing that's started to bother me though, is that now, in certain common driving situations, I get rub pretty bad. I never experienced that in the beginning. I guess the suspension has sagged a little?
Anyway, in my process to eliminate the rub(after trimming excess materials), I've had 3 solutions go through my head:
1.) purchase 1" body lift kit from Roger Brown.
2.) purchase 1.25" spacers.
3.) purchase both.
I'm not quite sure where the rub is happening exactly, other than it's only in the front. Almost every time I reverse out of a parking space, it rubs. Almost every time I make a u-turn with passengers in the vehicle, it rubs.
My questions for the experts are:
1.) Are spacers detrimental to the longevity of the the vehicles suspension? I've heard that spacers are bad.
2.) I've also heard that body lifts are bad also, but I figure a 1" body lift is too mild to cause any concern.
3.) Would it be overkill to install both the spacers and the body lift? At first, I was thinking only body lift, but I've seen a few guys on here with the spacers setup that seem to be fine. That threw a new curve in my direction.
I'm confused here. I want to get rid of the rub....bad. What option of the 3 would you guys suggest?
I emailed Roger Brown, and he promptly emailed me back and said that he felt the 1" body lift would eliminate the rub.....So, that's where I'm leaning towards right now.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice....
