body lift for 4th gen.

I have the 4crawler 1.5" body lift. It came with the radiator drop brackets and did not need a steering spacer. And there is no gap with any of the bumpers. I also have not had any problems while flexing. I wheel my rig kinda hard and flex all the time and have never had any problems with the fan hitting anything. The body lift is definitely worth the money from 4crawler. I can't vouch for the Toytec because I haven't had any experience with it.
 
How hard/long is a bl to install. I have checked at local shops and they want 500-600 bucks. Is this a couple hours in the driveway or a lot more intensive?

Just saw this - sorry for the delay. Well I had my 3" suspension lift already but a difference from that to the added 1" BL? None. You're just 1" higher and can notice it when looking down on other cars. :lmao:

:iagree:Literally everything you need to know regarding a BL install from 1" to 1.5" are located in the links Kenny posted,the install link is a step by step guide with photos.For installing the radiator drop brackets,steering spacer,alignment of the spare tire pulley, and enlarging the original body mounts for larger HD grade 8 hardware,what to disassemble,where to access the body mount bolts from inside the truck,how to remove the washer bottle.It's all covered in there....:thumb3:

It took about 4 hours for 3 guys (including myself) to finish it. Myself and a friend did the body mounts when another friend did the stearing shaft and radiator. I had a complete lift though so we didn't have to use floor jacks to lift the body up. All in all, it's a simple process, just time consuming.
 
Spare wheel compaprtment adjustments

For those of you with a Body lift please advise. I have a 2008 SR5 model. I dropped my spare to change my Rear Diff fluids and add the Breather. I was inspecting my tire pulley system and it does not look like it has the metal guide hanging from the body like on the install pictures. It is just an opening with a lip at the entrance all parts seem to be on the frame and the only concern would be that the rear bumper opening and the pulley system will not allign properly? Anyone with an 08 have a problem after bodylift with dropping the spare?
This is what i thought i would see, i guess i do not need to do this part if or when i add a BL.

you just take a hammer and beat it flat to the body or grind it off.

FYI you can run up to a 2.5" bodylift without modifying/lengthening anything other than aftermarket bumper fitment. HOWEVER if you plan on keeping the stock bumpers then 1.5 is max and will require a steering shaft spacer and radiator drop brackets.

the job is not hard at all. with air tools its about 1.5 hours start to finish. then again i did 5 body lifts in about 2 months so it got easier the more i did it.
 
Thanks for the reply Crazydubman, it looks like a straight forward install. I have never done it before but i am sure that i can when i get a proper floor jack with out air tools though. The only things i am looking at twice is the Rad drop,steering spacer and now the tire pulley because on my 2008 model it does not have the attachement on the body that needs to be hammered out. It looked like a black metal box with the system inside of it all attached to the frame so i was confused when i saw this missing the metal part on the body. I guess that i will not need to do anything to it in this case.
