Body Lift Install Hekp Please

I got the 2" Toytec Kit and I need to loosen the steering shaft bolts.

Can anyone please help me figure out where the steering shaft is, do I need to remove the skidplates?

Right above your rack and pinion. you'll see the rag joint, loosen the two bolts and it will come loose to insert the steering shaft spacer. make sure to secure the steering wheel, or else she'll be spinning all over.

its a tight spot, soak in pb blaster too. I used a vice grip and socket to get it out.

By secure the steering wheel do you mean tie it down so it doesn't move?

Is there tension on it?

Is anyone able to be a bit more specific as to where the steering shaft is? Is it north or south of the diff? is it a vertical piece or is it angled?

Thanks guys. I've got half the bolts off, just need to make sure the shaft is disconnected before i lift it.

So I've gotten one side of the bolts completely removed. I'm trying to loosen the bolts on the steering rack extension. They are not budging. Anyone have any ideas?

Is is just in a bad spot? What I did was removed the bolt closest to me then turned the steering wheel to make the other bolt more accessible.

Hopefully you loosened the steering rack before putting the pucks in. Anthony, remember what happened? LOL those steering shaft bolts wouldn't budge after the BL was on!

.... Yeah I remember. I was told the steering shaft extension was optional. And apparently by optional they mean if I want to be able to turn then I should of installed it. Ended up taking some power tools and 12 beers before it came off.

I never successfully loosened it so I had to wait until tonight.
