Body Lift question

Ok, I have searched everywhere but came up with little to nothing.
I just paid my truck off today and now I want to install a body lift. Have you or do you know how to make your own? Grade 8 hardware is a given but the spacers are what I am looking to make myself. Normally I do my best to make my own goodies just to have the satisfaction of looking and saying
"I did that"

What are the best materials to use for the spacers and where to get them is mainly my question.

I know a one person who purchased a sheet of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) at desired thickness and cut out 6 pucks. You can buy the sheet online or at a local plastics distributor.

You'll have to machine or purchase the steering shaft spacer depending on how much lift you're looking for. I'm pretty sure that the spacer needs to be metal.

i think i would just buy the steering link but might consider making one too.

Rather than a sheet, buy a rod

How much do you think this will cost you when its all said and done for the parts? Oh and how thick are you thinking about going for the spacers?

**edit, just checked out that link from OW...that's pretty cheap. And it won't cost that much for the hardware either.
(damn just spent 160 for a roger brown kit) you mine as well make a few sets and sell them to members here

You can measure the stock body mount sizes, there are 6 bigger ones by the front cabin, rear seats and rear cargo area and 2 smaller ones by the front fender.

Also be very careful with all the lines between body and chassis, and keep in mind that the radiator shroud may hit the fan if you don't move it.

We put a very good write for a body lift install up out there, which will be very useful.

The material costs for the kit adds up quickly, and also time involved to make the components. Anyway just FYI.

not sure on the costs just yet but i am estimating around $80 with the steering spacer, rad drop, grade 8 bolts and spacer blocks.
