So I have a question that is kinda silly.
Would I be a dumdum if I converted the 4runner to a 5 lug?

there are plenty of cool 6 lug wheels out there. I really don't know how you would convert to 5 lug unless you did a solid axle swap in the front. Check out Stealth Designs, they are a forum sponsor and make 2 different wheels for a good price that look great on our rigs. If you do decide to swap for some after market wheels, make absolutely certain they are Hubcentric. If the guy selling you wheels doesn't know or isn't sure then WALK AWAY.

Sliders are to protect your rocker panels if you go off road. Like if your front end goes off something and you slide on the sliders until you have front traction again. Or if you're wheeling by a tree, the sliders help to keep the truck away from the tree so you don't get body damage.

Running boards act as damage multipliers if you actually hit something with them. I was going to fast leaving an icy parking lot and had to steer into a mound of ice/snow to avoid going into a main road and getting t-boned. Ended up denting my rocker panel because the running board got shoved up so far.

I clicked around on your evo build a bit, that thing is sick! I'm sure the dog likes the 4runner much better though

Thanks. The dog is iffy right now about the 4. Not used to jumping high to get it. ****. Maybe I shouldn't lower it....I officially feel stupid. jeeps. lol.
Most nice wheels imo are 5 lug.... I'm not sure what I have up my sleeve yet in that department.
I would do it using custom spacers. I did it successfully on a Ferrari, albeit a 5 lug to different 5 lug conversion... so I think the 4runner could handle it. Unless there is something about the strength of 6lug being necessary to handle the load? That part I don't know
