I have been looking at for a newer 4runner perhaps a 2000. Standard shift is a must.
What would you say is a fair price for a 2000 excellent condition, standard shift, with 130,000 miles and no rust from a private owner, not from a dealer?
Yes I know. I use it but many people seem to think that their vehicle is worth 1500 to 2500 more then the book price.
I am intending on leaving this week for another state to look at a 1998 V6 standard for 3300.00 with about 190,000 miles. if it is anything like the picture I will buy it.
I was mainly curious about why others are paying so much above book.
It is what people are asking, not what people are paying that you see advertised. I've noticed 4r in my area are close to book while tacos are way over book.
I bought mine at the dealership. They wanted 12,000 and I offered them 6600 out the door CASH. I drove it home a couple hours later, no fuss, no bullshit. This truck was one owner and really clean inside and out.
I bought a 2000 limited 4wd with 162k for $4900. It needed tires immediately so that cost me $600. So $5500 it's not mint, but its clean and drives good.
