Hello,

The 13 year old is in critical condition. He took his father's keys to a Dodge Durango, and drove off the roof of a 4 story parking garage and landed on top of the Limited. No one was in the Limited. Btw, both vehicles were new.

That's good news - according to that link the boy is in "good condition" so I suppose it wouldn't be in bad taste for me to comment at this point (I was hesitant to do so since someone above said he was in "critical" condition).

So now that I know the kid is okay, here's my comment

Couldn't the stupid kid have found a Kia or something to crash into instead of a T4R!!!

Can you imagine coming out to your beloved 4Runner (a limited w/ 4wd at that), and seeing that... I don't know what I would do, but I can tell you it wouldn't be good.

Looking at the damage, it would seem the Limited cushioned the blow. If the Durango landed flat on its roof, it would seem the 13 year old would be in worst shape. It speaks volumes about roof integrity of the T4R. I don't know if a Kia could stand up to it.:nono:

That's not a new Durango, it's a first gen. The 4Runner on the other hand looks brand new or freshly detailed. Fortunately, there were no pedestrians below or occupants in the 4Runner.

That kid is going to be grounded for a long time and maybe won't have his license at 16.
