Have any of you noticed a condensation drip from the section where the exhaust meets the cross over pipe. The one right under the center where both cats meet, and the two spring loaded bolts are.

I noticed a drip from there, and went ahead and replaced the gasket/O-ring with a new one. It still has a drip. I there isn't an air leak, because I would hear a light whistle (while under the 4runner) under acceleration.

Could anyone else turn on their 4runners and let them warm up and check to see if it is just me.

Thanks in advance.

I do have the same whistle under hard acceleration as you seem to, but I have not looked for a drip. I'll see if I notice it in the morning.

Yeah I don't have an air leak, just a condensation drip. thanks for checking, please let me know.

I've had a rattling since I bought the rig. It rattles while at a stoplight w/o the HVAC on. I thought it might be a leak in one of the fittings, but it since has lessened.

Rattle is from around the catalytic converter area. I even thought it was my license plate frame from the added base of the exhaust.

yes, I have that rattle. It seems to be coming from the heat shield above the cats.

Actually, the rattle was what led me to check underneath, which is how I noticed the drip.

After replacing the gasket, It has lessened as well.

I did call Borla today, they said its normal. What you should be really looking for the is the black soot from the exhaust smoke. If I am starting to get soot around a clamp then there is a leak.

He also told me that the entire exhaust system is garunteed from life (1,000,000 miles). And that as long as I have the receipt, they will replace anything wrong witht he exhaust.

Gotta love a company that stands by its product. Its just a little quirk, like the 2K drone, which I like. I bought mine already installed by the dealer(SE Toyota), so I have a receipt.

Good call on the heat shield, I crawled, uh, wedged under, and gave everything a good shake, but to no avail.

At 38K, the stainless is getting harder to shine at the tips and above them. Mud, soot, asphalt, clay, you name it, has slowly baked its way on the shiny finish.
