Bought a 1st gen

Been wanting 4wd for quite some time. Bought a 1st gen, 1987, in pretty good shape for Utah. 22RE, SR5, 5 speed. It looks like the previous owner pretty much ticked all the options when he bought it. Power all, auto hubs, altimeter, sunroof, a/c, sidesteps. So far I'm really happy with it. Hope to put 31's on it in the next couple months. And take that top off all summer (which has never been taken off it).

Unfortunately they are only on that side. But maybe one day i will get them on the other side as well!

Here's a much better picture of it. I'm most likely going to be dumping a paycheck into it for things i want. Such as improved sound and possibly new brakes

she is a beauty if you off road it or plan on it id take the running boards off and i see some rust in the rear fender well take care of that soon so it doesnt get worse

I agree. I'm taking it wheeling tomorrow, and the running boards are still on. Google is getting me nowhere on how to take them off. I don't want to ruin them. Can someone tell me how they come off?

Mine had them on when i picked it up from the p/o. If i remember correctly there are only a couple of bolts holding on one bracket front and one rear. They are probably rusted to all hell, but they do come off pretty easily.
