Chuckles89's 1989 4Runner Resto-Mod!

After being on the hunt for a nice 1st gen for over 10 years, I finally bought one! 1989 V6 SR5 Auto. She's a bit rough, but almost no rust and I'll eventually get everything fixed up real nice. The end goal is a go anywhere camping rig on 33's with a 1UZ, R150f, and dual cases. I'll try and update this thread when I can.

How I bought her. We threw an '02 Tacoma e-locker axle under, put in the radiator, and bled the brakes. It was quite the adventure driving her home on a 4.5 hour drive that turned into a 7 hour drive hahaha

He gave me seats out of his burned '89 for the ride home

Just a few days of ownership and the brakes locked up going down the road. I parked her and she' awaiting all new brakes, wheel bearings, and steering components

Awesome!

My dad had a white 87 with all-red interior like that. For that reason I still have a few bins worth of random red interior crap -- hit me up if you're looking for anything, or swing by next time you're in Atlanta and just take it all home with you!
