Bought a new to me LC

Well I was going to trade my wifes 2003 350Z in on a new 2006 4runner but I could not part with the Z, too much fun so I just bought a 1999 Toyota Landcruiser with rear lockers and rear air. Only has 58K miles on it and a clean carfax. So now I'm a 3 vehicle family with only 2 drivers.

I don't know how to do pictures on the internet. My wife has a digital camera when she gets time i will have her takes some pic's and show me how to post them. The insurance is fun for 3 vehicles. I now pay $2K per year for all 3 vehicles. The Z is $1K of that figure.

that's nothing... i pay a little over $2k for ONE car in NJ... be thankful you don't live here! hahaha

i thought that they stopped putting lockers on the lc in 1998. is it an aftermarket locker?

The front locker went away with the solid axle in 1998 mad: . The rear locker remained available I thought until 1999, but if SWUtah has it on his 2000 then I am sure he is not lying. I was under the assumption they did away with it when they introduced the stability and traction control with was 2000 I believe. I do think you can still get both a rear and a front locker on some models in foreign markets.

SWUtah got a 1999 model. You are right...rear locker went out when Toyota introduced ATRAC in 2000. In other parts of the world, you can still get front locker if you order your TLC with solid front axle (called, TLC105 i think).
