Nice, I kind of want my wife to get a Subaru wagon since they get ok mileage and can hold a lot more. I definitely understand wanting something more efficient than the 4runner.

I've thought about Subaru's, but just don't feel the AWD is necessary around here with how little I'm hitting up the mountains and honestly, I'm not a big fan of the styling. The bummer is that in Europe they have the TSX wagon in both a diesel AND in a manual trans. What's holding me back is that I LOVE my Runner still and do like playing around in areas where most other vehicles can't get to. We'll see. I never make decisions like this very fast.

Very nice rig [MENTION=56396]Hepar[/MENTION]! I've checked out your page before had a specific question (sorry if it's already been answered- at work and unable to scroll through entire build). I'm thinking about doing the same front mud flaps that you did and was curious if they provide adequate protection for your panels. Do they provide enough protection, given the running boards were removed, or do you still get a decent amount of rocks kicked up?

Hey! Sorry for the delayed response. I've been out of town on vacation and just got back. The front flaps do a good job of adding a bit of protection. Some stuff still gets by, but I'm sure that's also due to having wheels on there that have a bit more backspacing than stock as well as tires with a bit more aggressive tread.

No worries- thanks for the feedback! I've been going back and forth on removing them, given I actually use them, but was concerned about rock rash. I've also had a chance to thoroughly look through your build for other pics of the flaps and really found them helpful. Thanks again!

VW Golf TDI Wagon ... available with manual, and as of next year, AWD! Way more exciting to drive than the Honda Love your build, you may have inspired me to run 31s.

Just a small update on the tires.

Last full tank with my 265/75-16 E-load BFG AT's was 13.9 mpgs mixed driving.

I agree unless you need them. I have Michelin LTX MS and with my lift, lights and bumper I get 14 highway. Super changer didn't change anything ether. Still the same

I'd say after going through several tanks, the real mixed numbers are probably around the mid 16's, but still quite an improvement over the BFG's.

And I'm just not a fan of Subaru's...

Unfortunately, and especially when compared with to the Golf TDI, the Subaru's mileage isn't that much better than a 4runner. Also, IIRC, the Outback is no longer available with a manual, which is a deal breaker for me.

I'm averaging 18.5 on my T4R, my GF was averaging 15 on her old Dodge Nitro & she's getting 24 with the 6cyl Outback. So it's much better than what she was getting. My GF is too much of a klutz to drive a stick plus she commutes in major traffic each way to work.

I honestly don't know. I just asked the shop to match them to the back windows as best they could.

Saw one of my LBJ boots were leaking a bit. Decided to swap them out earlier than later. Roughly 108k on the clock. When I examined them, they were still in great shape, but a bit of piece of mind goes a long way. Also swapped out my completely ripped passenger CV. Then I went surfing.

That is a mint ride. I love everything you've done with. And what a great find too in that condition!

Some already know, but scored a great deal on a 2nd (or 4th gen depending on who you ask) TRD supercharger. It is the one single mod I have gone back and forth on the most by far. Timing was just perfect.

There was ZERO chance of this happening without [MENTION=63487]A.Wilson013[/MENTION] and [MENTION=82154]GSPRunner[/MENTION] with a guest appearance by [MENTION=46895]sogoood[/MENTION]. Can't thank them enough for volunteering to help turn bolts out in the f'in cold. And it was cold.

Overall the charger is in great shape. The pulley has some rust due to the rig sitting for quite a while, but other than that, it is great. Very quiet. I'll probably swap out the pulley when I do the next maintenance on it. Power add is perfect. No need at all to change a thing. Only future possibility is if I end up having pinging issues. If that happens, I'm going to go to a 2.65" pulley first before any thoughts of going the other way of adding more fuel via a 7th injector.

Also a big thanks to [MENTION=148879]RusoArmo[/MENTION] for the charger itself as well as the space and time to be able to accommodate us. Was tough to see a rig in that shape after an accident, but glad you and your wife were ok.

Overall, I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed. I was expecting some sort of secret candle lit ceremony once I became a member of the SC club (like the video below), but nothing. Oh well...
