Bought a Toyota Kluger

finally changed the wifes car from a JDM vitz (yaris hatch) to a JDM Kluger (also known as a Highlander in the US).

i know it may seem old but considering the taxes here for importing a car can hit 3-400% i think it was a steal at $36k.

hope you guys like it, and feel free to hand out any suggestions/mods

On thing which is annoying the hell out of me is that it had a "K" on the front grille (typical JDM cr@p) which I removed to find a "T" under it but i can't seem to find a badge which fits in the recess. Seems to me that the one from my surfs grille might fit but I can't seem to find one in the open market since surfs/4runners never made it to my country.

I guess I'll have to search the scrap yards.

BTW any billet grilles available for this thing in the US?

your version of the highlander looks much more off road ready. the US highlanders look more like it was designed for the highways.

you said you cant get 4runners in your area but you took a picture next to a 4runner?

why do you have an extra side view mirror? Is it more common to have blind spot accidents there?

did those tires come stock on the kluger like that?

Noticing you mentioned an import tax. Where do you import most of yours from? Do you have a national car manufacturer?

That fender mirror is a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) thing. Most cars driven in Asia have something similar.

He lives in pakistan and that would be his 4runner That "highlander" is still pretty low to the ground...

over here we get the surf with either the 2700 or 3400 engines, not the 4runner with the 4.0. mines a 3400 SSR-G. the extra side view mirror is a stock item on any SUV (and some cars) in japan, so i guess it is a JDM thing. the tyres on the kluger are "upgrades" in terms of width as the original ones were WAY too thin for my liking. We don't really have a national car manufacturer anymore but we do have honda, toyota, land rover etc over here but the stuff they produce here is extremely sub standard. i mainly import my vehicles from japan. lately the taxes have been raised again so honestly it's like playing the lottery when importing a car. one day most peopel can afford to buy an import, next day they cant.
