Bought a Tundra, getting the run around, and total crap!

Ok so I bought an '08 Tundra DC, 5.7L. back on Friday the 4th.

I did all the paperwork, leave the dealership and get home. I then notice a fairly good size dent low on the rear passenger side door. I immediately go back to the dealership and show my salesperson. His first reaction is "what did you hit" and I tell him nothing, it obviously was exisitng damage that myself, the lot porters, and himself all missed. Though I'm simply a customer, so its not my job but theirs to ensure a quote "perfect vehicle delivery"

Well he sets it up with service to have a body shop guy there on Monday the 7th to have it popped out. Well on Monday I arrive and the salesman never told service about any of this, or setup anything. So the service advisors goes and looks at the damage. He says it can't be popped out because its on a seam, and they'll have to re-do it, and repaint the door. So he sets it up, and its supposed to be done on Thursday the 10th. Well on Thursday I go over there and they say it isn't finished, the body shop is lagging and it'll now be done on Friday the 11th. Well then on Friday I go over and they say it was finished but they mis-matched the paint and it'll need to be re-painted now it'll be done on Monday the 14th.

Obviously this is a serious issue to me since I bought a brand new truck, and the delaership has now had it longer than I have!
What should I do here? Should I call Toyota and get them involved. I already wrote an email to DCH Auto group telling them of this hoping they'll get involved and fix this.

I think they might have talked to the dealership since the sales manager asked me when I was pretty much yelling at him about this if I had written a letter to DCH about it. SO what do you guys think I should do about this? What do you feel I am entitled to?

Good luck with that. What dealer?

I called Toyota about the dealer dragging their feet getting my new 4 Runner's "lot damage" fixed properly. It took 3 trys and about a month to get it right. In the end I ended up dealing with the GM of the dealer and after he knew I contacted Toyota he was all service. All the things they were slow on got handled ASAP.

It left a bad taste but in the end it turned out the way it should have. Toyota is going to tell you that the dealers are independently owned and any service issues must first go through all the channels at the dealer before they get involved. Don't give up. The key is to be persistent and not rude or pushy, and make sure you are 100% happy with the results. Its sucks to have a new car that needs work but if they can make it like new that's the best you can hope for. Unless they really ^&%* it up not much you can do. Keep everything documented.

when you signed the paper work, did you get the back out feature? if you did... I would back out and go some where else!
thats total crap, you know you already have the truck picked out... the hard part is done, but you shouldn't have all the bullshit! I would look at the contract and see if it's at all still possible to pull out of the deal.

Did they give you a loaner while its being repaired?

When we got home with my T4R my neighbors walked over to take a look and immediately spotted what looked like 2 water drops in the hood paint. I called the dealer, 150 miles away, and they were nice enough to give me one of those nifty Rav4s with the V6 to use for the week while it was being repaired. I'll definitly go back to them for my next Toyota.

I can only tell you my experience . I had a fix issue that they gave me the run around , I said screw it and called Toyota to file a complaint. When the called and I came in for the fix again they sure changed their tune.

I would call Toyota , screw it !! It's your money and time , get on them , but be nice and respectful. I bet the dealer will jump for you then.

just called toyota and informed them of the situation. I'm hoping when I stroll in the dealership today to demand satisfaction this little reference number, combined with the report Toyota now has on them they will actually take steps to ensure I remain a customer for them as opposed to one of the other 26 dealerships out here.
