Bought an '06 4runner that has dash issues

I bought a 2006 4Runner yesterday and noticed a few things when I got it home. The rear window switch on the dash doesn't work but the window does roll up and down with the remote/key. (The window lockout switch is not engaged.)

The next problem is when I press the hazard light button on the dash, it does nothing.

Finally the right half light is out on the display above the a/c controls.

I am wondering if they are all controlled by the same fuse that may be causing the problem, although I could not find anything about it in the owner's manual. Thanks in advance for any information.

If it's not fuses, take dash panel off and check connectors. Easy to do- start with the shifter trim, it all just lifts up, then work your way up to the large piece around the radio. Search for radio install if you need directions. There's a plug on the back of each switch that might not be attached if they had just put the factory radio back in there instead of aftermarket, etc.

If you bought it from a dealer, I would bring it back and have them fix it for you, you just purchased it yesterday and they shouldn't have sold it to you like that, even if it's a simple fix.

The lights for the Information Center are easily replaceable. It is about a 5 minute job. You have to get the bulbs from the Toyota dealer and are about 4-5 bucks a piece. There are two that light up that window. When I had one go out on mine, I went ahead and bought two and replaced both of them and keeping the good older one for the future. I do not have the part number at the moment, but I was able to get the part number off of this site just by doing a search for Information Center lights.

I also know that a few people here have gotten different colored bulbs for accent.

Good luck with the rest of the problems.

I think Zimm is on the right track. I'll bet the old owner had an aftermarket radio in there and swapped back in the old one when they sold it. When they threw it back together they forgot or didn't properly connect up the switches. The bulb may just be burned out. This site will show you how to take apart the console. It is super easy.

That makes sense. I don't know if they removed the factory stereo since it has a JBL 6 disk in it, but it does have a parrot bluetooth that was added aftermarket that goes into the speakers so maybe they didn't plug that stuff back in when they did that.

Thanks for all the info.
