Purchased my new toy. Now I'm an official 4runner owner. Been wanting one since My best friends dad had one. Looking forward to the 4runner forum and all that I can learn.

That's not SFA. Too big for my taste, but looks clean. Now get rid of those tube steps and get some real sliders!
 
its looking good from where I am sitting in California. Just need to post bigger picture with more light so i can see the suspension!
 
WOOOAAHhh, hold on guys. I just picked it up yesterday so give me some time to do mods to it. I was def thinking sliders and plates, dumping the swampers for some Irocks. Plus I have my other baby that needs some attention too. It's ridiculous, obnoxious and so gaudy but I bought it this way so that I can go explore the *secret* parts of the island.
 
how exactly is that much lift attained?

are those wheels with not enough offset that makes them stick out like that or is that achieved with spacers?

how is that lift attained?

is that all body lift or body and suspension lift ?

sorry if this seems to be a stupid question I have never seen anything quite like this around here. Not sure if I like it or not and that is not the point, just eternally curious.

That 4r is awesome!! Dang. Body lifts and suspension. What kind of suspension system do you have. And what is the lift from the center of the hub to fenders. (front and back)
 
no wheel spacers, no body lift. all suspension. 9 in suspension lift. Taco front from fabtech I think and custom rear end from a shop here on the island. Ill have to take a few photos of front and rear for you all. Its interesting. not a fan of IFS, would have rather a jeep with an axle, but i wanted to be able to sleep in the back or carry people too. Plus "It's more funner in a 4runner" :)

That is one sweet 4R you have. I want to make my '05 up there on 35-36's.

I cant believe people dont like this look. How can you say that the tires are too wide...why are you on this forum??? The wider the better...the bigger the better...

I was hoping for the superferry to head to Big Island so I could join you on those "secret" parts of the island. My aws bought property up in South Kulani and eventually we will move up there. Until then.....you can catch me ridin' dirrty!!

Anyways this forum is the sh*t...hope you have fun with it.

:) a blast from the past email shows up in my account. So I had the T4R for a year and then sold it as ive explored the island plenty. Moved to the mainland for a year to get my MA and shipped my Z with me. Moving to Oz in a few months.
As far as the truck. No issues. It had 4.88's so going any decent speed above 50 up a hill was a PITA. the truck did very very well with everything i threw at it. When i get back tonight ill try and get some good off road shots i took of it. I replaced the front struts as whoever installed them did a poor job and one poped out through the coil. crazy ehh? I have no idea how. It was not beat on at all, especially when that happened. Its still on the big island. I took a HELL of a loss on the sale, but i wanted out from under it and to pay off my Z (which has been done long ago too) and plus to pay for (without loans) my MA and moving to mainland, and then to Oz. So yeah, i got rid of it. great fun while it lasted. Ill post more info later.

Interested in knowing how there can't be a body lift. The first pic shows about a 4" gap between the frame and the body (over rear wheel). :confused:
